I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the novice is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
